Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before your visit.

Before You Visit

What is an escape room?

An escape room is a live, interactive puzzle experience. You and your team are "locked" in a themed room and must solve a series of puzzles, find hidden clues, and crack codes to escape before time runs out — usually 60 minutes.

Will there be other people in the room with my group?

No. Your game is always private to your group — you'll never be paired with strangers. It's just you and the people you book with.

Where is Lock & Logic located?

Lock & Logic is in Pottstown, PA, at 142 Shoemaker Rd, Unit 1, Pottstown, PA 19464, with free on-site parking. We serve Pottstown and the surrounding Montgomery County area, including Limerick, Royersford, Collegeville, Phoenixville, Spring City, Boyertown, and Gilbertsville.

How many escape rooms do you have?

We have four themed escape rooms: Grandma Betty's Secret Recipe (beginner-friendly), Nikola Tesla's Workshop (intermediate), The Initiation (intermediate), and The Forgotten God (advanced). Each room fits 2–8 players and runs about 60 minutes.

How many people can play in an escape room?

Each of our rooms is designed for 2 to 8 players. For larger groups, you can book multiple rooms at the same time — get in touch through our group inquiry page and we'll help you plan it.

Which escape room is best for beginners or first-timers?

Grandma Betty's Secret Recipe is our beginner-friendly room and a great choice for first-time players. If you want more of a challenge, Nikola Tesla's Workshop and The Initiation are intermediate, and The Forgotten God is our most advanced room.

How do I book?

You can book directly through our Booking Page using the Book Now button. We recommend reserving your spot online to guarantee availability.

Do I need to book in advance?

Yes, we strongly recommend booking online in advance. Walk-ins are welcome if space is available, but we can't guarantee availability without a reservation.

How long should I plan to be here?

Plan for about 90 minutes total. That includes 15 minutes for check-in and a briefing, 60 minutes in the room, and time afterward for photos and celebrating (or commiserating).

How early should we arrive?

Please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled time. This gives us time to check you in, go over the rules, and get you into the room on time. Late arrivals may result in a shortened experience.

What should I wear?

Wear comfortable clothing and shoes you can move in. You won't need to do anything physically demanding, but you'll be on your feet and moving around the room.

Is there an age requirement?

Our rooms are recommended for ages 10 and up. Groups that include players ages 10–14 must have at least one adult playing along in the room with them. Players 15 and older are welcome to play on their own.

Do you have parking?

Yes, free parking is available on-site for all guests.

What if I'm running late?

Your room time begins at the scheduled start, so arriving late means less time to escape. Unfortunately, we're unable to extend your session or offer refunds for late arrivals. If you know you'll be late, give us a call and we'll do our best to help.

Are your rooms wheelchair accessible?

Yes — Lock & Logic is wheelchair accessible, including two accessible restrooms. Accessible parking and a ramp are a few storefronts over, with a level walkway leading right to our entrance. If you have any questions about access, just reach out before booking.

During Your Visit

Can we bring food or drinks into the room?

We ask that food and drinks stay outside the game rooms. A water bottle is fine, but anything else could interfere with the puzzles and props.

Can we bring our phones into the room?

We ask that all phones be left in the provided lockers before entering the room. Phones are not needed (or allowed) to solve any puzzles, and it keeps the experience immersive for everyone.

What if we get stuck?

Don't worry — your Game Master is monitoring your progress and can provide hints when you need them. There's no penalty for asking for help, and hints are designed to nudge you in the right direction without spoiling the fun.

Is it actually scary?

Our rooms are immersive and atmospheric, but they're not haunted houses. There are no jump scares, no actors hiding in the dark, and nothing designed to frighten. Think mystery and adventure, not horror.

Can we leave the room if we need to?

Absolutely. You are never truly locked in. There is always an accessible exit, and you can leave at any time. Safety is our top priority.

Occasions & Groups

Is an escape room a good birthday party idea?

Escape rooms make a great birthday activity for teens and adults. Your game is always private to your group, so it's just you and your guests. Plan for about 90 minutes, and tell us about your group through our group inquiry page so we can help you set it up.

Do you offer corporate team building or group events?

Yes. Escape rooms are a popular team-building activity because they reward communication and problem-solving under pressure. For corporate outings, larger groups, or events, reach out through our group inquiry page and we'll help coordinate multiple rooms and timing.

Is an escape room a good date night idea?

Definitely. A 60-minute escape room is a fun, interactive alternative to dinner and a movie, and your game is always private to just the two of you. A team of two can absolutely take on any of our rooms.

Booking & Payments

How much does it cost?

Our rooms are $35 per person, tax included.

What payment methods do you accept? Do you take cash?

We're a cashless venue. We accept all major credit and debit cards, including tap-to-pay options like Apple Pay and Google Pay. Online bookings are paid securely by card at checkout.

What is your cancellation policy?

Refunds are not available, but we're happy to reschedule your booking. Just reach out at least 24 hours before your original reservation and we'll find a new time that works.

Can I reschedule my booking?

Yes! We can reschedule your reservation as long as you contact us at least 24 hours before your original booking time.

Do I have to pay for the whole group at once?

Yes. Bookings are paid in full at the time of reservation and cover everyone in your party. Because each room is reserved privately for your group, we take one payment up front rather than individual payments — so one person books for the whole group and sorts out the rest with everyone afterward.

Still Have Questions?

We're happy to help. Reach out and we'll get back to you as soon as possible.
